NRP believes the buildings of the future already exist

NRP (National Renovation Platform) is a Dutch platform where professionals in renovation and transformation come together to shape a more sustainable, circular, and future-ready built environment. Through activities, events, and awards, NRP fosters collaboration and innovation to tackle today’s most urgent challenges.

NRP believes the buildings of the future already exist. Solving major challenges such as the housing shortage, climate goals, and urban liveability requires integrated, collective action. Our network of over 100 organizations from all parts of the built environment sector is working together to drive positive change.

By connecting professionals and sharing knowledge, NRP accelerates high-quality, sustainable renovation and reuse.

Our focus

In the upcoming years, our network will focus on three themes:

  1. (Un)tapped Potential
Many buildings are unused or underutilized. NRP explores how to repurpose them and overcome existing barriers.
  2. Housing and Vital Neighbourhoods
Renovations that go beyond buildings – contributing to more liveable and sustainable communities.
  3. Energy and Materials
The energy transition requires a material transition. Circularity and reuse of components are key to avoiding waste and future costs.

To turn our themes into practical actions, NRP organizes various inspiring events throughout the year, such as project site visits and excursions, a yearly congress, and different project groups.

In collaboration with TU Delft, we offer a hands-on learning program: ‘NRP Course Renovation and Transformation’. Each year, we present two awards.

The NRP Gulden Feniks is a national prize for the most exemplary renovation or transformation projects. The NRP Master Prize recognizes forward-thinking academic work by recent graduates.

Together with our partners, NRP accelerates high-quality, sustainable renovation and re-use.
